If you know my family, you know we have a rich history here in Memphis, filled with stories and lessons. My parents' legacy of providing housing and care for the community and fostering over 75 children has deeply influenced me. Building on that foundation, God has helped me create my own path, starting businesses like Pop-a-Roos, my popcorn shop, to teach my kids the value of hard work and entrepreneurship. With my experiences and God's leading, I’ve had the privilege of being a TEDx presenter, Hosting a local news segment, Faith Forum for over 9 years and also hosting the Nexus Leadership Podcast. My mission is to share my experiences to help you lead well and live well. I aim to elevate you and your team, strengthening your leadership skills and guiding you to the next level.
I strongly emphasize transparency and community, recognizing that true leadership grows when people feel seen, valued, and motivated to be their best. I have learned from both successes and failures, understanding that growth is a lifelong process. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I believe we can learn together, using every experience to inspire progress.
As Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” This truth guides my purpose—to uplift, encourage, and equip others for success.
Through motivational speaking, encouragement, and consulting, my aim is to help individuals and teams build trust, navigate change, and reach their highest potential. Whether leading through challenges, fostering a strong team culture, or stepping into new opportunities, I desire to motivate, celebrate alongside you and cheer you on!

Pop-a-Roos Gourmet Popcorn Shoppe first opened its doors in September 2014 with one old kettle popcorn machine that my dad left after his passing. One day, I had a desire to pursue a dream to open up a quaint little shop that my dad would have been proud to see and help create jobs for people in need of one. Our flavors are a spin-off from watching my dad, Monroe Sr., create popcorn and peanut recipes with flavored syrups. He didn't know about gourmet popcorn; he was just a young man who grew up in the country and popped some 'corn on the stove and started mixing stuff up--and it was GOOD! Seeing him create fun foods years ago gave me the idea to create fun flavors with kettle popcorn.
TODAY, Pop-a-roos offers over 30 flavors of dessert and savory popcorn that our customers enjoy! Our popping team pops “mushroom” kernels to a beautiful plume, then glazes them with layers of sweet goodness for our dessert popcorns. If you love the cheddar cheeses or more savory flavorings, we offer a variety of delicious combinations that we are certain you will LOVE!
